QUEUE FOLLOWING WHEELCHAIR
At present robotics is playing a major role in aiding people with physical restrictions. Wheel-chair is a common device used by such people. This model attempts to demonstrate how some a simple modifications can ease up usage of the wheelchair when persons are lined up in queue.
We are using an IR or Proximity sensor to detect the presence of any object in front of the chair. On detection of any obstacle, the wheelchair stops. As long as the obstacle is there the wheelchair remains stationary, once the obstacle is removed, it continues on its path.
The programming algorithm is as follows:-
1) START
2) IR SENSOR ACTIVATION
3) IR SENSOR INPUT ACQUISITION
4) IF SENSOR SENSES ANY OBJECT IT STOPS
5) ELSE IT CONTINUES TO MOVE
6) GO BACK TO STEP 3
